Ultrasound Technician Certification
 What Does an Ultrasound Technician Do?
There are many diagnostic tests available to help physicians diagnose diseases and injuries. Rather than operate on a patient in order to discover the problem, imaging solutions like ultrasound can help identify a problem. As an ultrasound technician you will probably be working in the imaging department of a hospital, veterinary clinic, or large medical or surgical practice. You would generally be responsible for greeting and explaining to the patient what to expect. You may help them undress and then position them for the ultrasound equipment. Some equipment is handheld; other units are much larger. You may be responsible for organizing service schedules and reloading the equipment with photographic paper. Some machines may use digital photography to capture an image. Once you are satisfied with the image, you would capture it either photographically or digitally, ready for study by a physician.
